Library and IT services

St Anne’s has one of the largest college libraries in Oxford with around 110,000 volumes, and a wide range of both silent and group study spaces and a team of friendly librarians ready to help you.

There are good collections in all subjects, and excellent collections in most. Education, English, philosophy, politics and medicine are among the subjects especially well catered for.

The collections are split across two buildings – one modern and one from the 1930s - and both libraries provide study spaces, printing and copying/scanning facilities, desktop PCs, and Wi-fi access throughout.

The library is open to college members 24/7, both during term and in the vacations

Sport, music and college facilities

Graduate students at St Anne’s participate in numerous sports and other activities, including the musical, literary and artistic sides of life at the college.

St Anne's has a Director of Music and an art gallery - the Mary Ogilvie Art Gallery - which hosts an annual student art exhibition and exhibits work by professional contemporary artists. There are four practice rooms for musicians.

Student make use of the St John’s playing field which has three hard tennis courts, three grass courts for use in Trinity term, and pitches for football, rugby and hockey. The boathouse, shared with St Hugh’s and Wadham, is equipped with boats for the college’s rowing Eights.

St Anne’s has a nursery for children aged six months to five years.

Facilities for disabled students

St Anne’s College is committed to extending accessibility for disabled people and promoting equality. Some rooms within college accommodation have been modified for use by disabled students. Prospective students are advised to contact the college to discuss any requirements. 

Welfare

St Anne’s is committed to supporting the welfare of students and fostering a safe, inclusive, kind community where you can be well and do well.

The college offers a range of support, information and resources alongside the support from University, universal and specialist services.

This includes a Dean of Welfare, a College Nurse and a Disability Co-ordinator available to support and signpost students with health, welfare and disability related matters. More information is provided on the college website. 

MCR

Graduates have as their social base in college a large and attractive Middle Common Room (MCR), which sits adjacent to other facilities including the STACS coffee bar. There is also a graduate study centre with workstations.

The graduates elect a committee to run various social events, including parties, special dinners and theatre visits. Graduates are prominent at many events organised by the college, which regularly hosts events especially arranged for them, their guests, and their supervisors. They also produce an annual journal, STAAR (St Anne's Academic Review).

Graduates also benefit from access to a number of internship schemes and a rapidly growing careers network of alumnae and friends of the college.
