Financial declaration
Financial Declaration Form
After receiving an offer of a place to study at Oxford you are required to complete a Financial Declaration Form (FDF) in order to meet your financial condition of admission.
The Financial Declaration aims to ensure that you are fully aware of the expected fees and living costs associated with your chosen course of study at Oxford. It is your opportunity to consider the financial commitment you are entering into and to take full responsibility for it by ensuring that you carefully review the form and accompanying Essential Information. If you cannot pay your fees and living costs, you will not normally be able to continue your studies.
Before returning your Financial Declaration Form you must read the Essential Information for your course type.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Financial Declaration Form?
The Financial Declaration is sent to all applicants who have been offered a place to study at the University of Oxford, and forms part of the conditions of admission. The form also aims to ensure that incoming students are fully aware of the expected fees and living costs for their course at Oxford. It is a student’s opportunity to consider very carefully the financial commitment they are entering into and to take full responsibility for it.
What should I do if I'm having problems accessing my Financial Declaration Form?
You should contact your admissions contact in the first instance. Details can be found on the FDF Contacts tab.
Can I save my Financial Declaration part-way through and come back to it later?
Yes, there is an option to 'save' at the bottom of the form. Clicking this button will save your progress so you can return to this later.
Why have I not received my Financial Declaration Form yet?
You will receive a Financial Declaration Form after your college or departmental (sometimes called UAB) offer, depending on the course you have applied to. If there is a query in relation to your fee status then your form will be sent after this has been confirmed as Home or Overseas.
What should I do if I'm a graduate applicant who is having problems accessing Graduate Self-Service?
If you are a graduate applicant with a Graduate Self-Service account, Graduate Admissions can assist with problems accessing your portal. Details of how to contact the team can be found at the linked webpage.
I am am an undergraduate applicant and the link I was sent to access my Financial Declaration Form is not working, who can I contact to help me with this?
If you are not a graduate applicant with a Graduate Self-Service account, you will be sent a ‘magic link’ to access your Financial Declaration Form. If you have been sent multiple emails containing hyperlinks to access the form, only the most recent will work. Therefore, please check you are trying to use the most recent version of the link. If you are still unable to access your form you should contact your admissions contact in the first instance.
What should I do if I disagree with the fee status on my Financial Declaration?
If you believe your fee status is incorrect you should contact the Student Fees team. The fee status published on your Financial Declaration Form is a condition of your offer letter and by accepting the FDF you accept that fee status and confirm your liability to pay fees at the level applicable to that fee status. You will not be able to enrol for your course and commence your studies until you have submitted your FDF. As explained on our fee status webpage, it is not usually possible for your fee status to change once your course has started, except in certain specific circumstances.
What evidence is acceptable when completing my Financial Declaration Form?
Further guidance can be found within the documents on the Essential Information tab.
What should I do if my funding changes after I have submitted my Financial Declaration?
Please contact your admissions contact. They will usually be able to reopen the form.
