Networks and representation
Building professional connections and contributing to the wider research community are crucial to advancing your career. Through researcher networks and representative groups, you can share experiences, influence decision-making and help shape the researcher experience across the University.
The Oxford Research Staff Society (OxRSS) is a researcher-led community that brings together research staff across the University. Membership is open to all research staff, regardless of career stage or contract length.
Researchers can also become involved in Oxford’s research staff governance and committees (staff only, SSO login required). Departmental, divisional and college representatives contribute to the Research Staff Consultation Group, Research Staff Working Group and Research Staff Steering Committee, ensuring that researchers’ perspectives inform University policy and strategic priorities.
About the Researcher Hub
The Researcher Hub brings together information, opportunities and support for research staff across Oxford. It also leads the University's implementation of the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers, working with colleagues across the University to strengthen the research environment and researcher experience.
Originally established in 2021, core Researcher Hub functions are now delivered by the Research Environment Programmes team, collaboratively with teams across the university provide embedded support for researcher career development and research culture.
