University College

Univ’s inclusive and welcoming atmosphere supports students to pursue their interests to the highest level. We take the wellbeing and success of our students very seriously, and provide strong welfare support and generous bursary schemes to assist our students during their studies. We are proud of our pioneering history of making Oxford accessible to students from all backgrounds and of our reputation for providing the highest quality support for first-year students making the transition to university study. The recently launched Univ Beacon Programme includes ten generous bursaries for undergraduate students from backgrounds least represented at Oxford.

Students at University College

The College is located centrally on Oxford’s High Street, and students are usually able to live in College owned or maintained accommodation throughout their course.

Univ’s students have access to excellent facilities. The College has two 24-hour libraries which provide constant access to study spaces and resources for students. Univ also has its own sportsground, squash court and impressive boathouse. The active student body engage in many extracurricular opportunities, including open mic nights, garden plays, board games society and welfare teas. Students can apply for a variety of grants to fund academic travel, the purchase of academic books, and participation in extracurriculars to help them make the most of their time at Oxford.

We may have a claim to be Oxford’s oldest college, but we are thoroughly forward thinking in our aspirations and modern in our outlook.

Univ is...

…a living and working environment in which I feel entirely supported by tutors, support staff and fellow students alike.

…a place full of people who are unapologetically friendly.

…weekend morning brunch in the hall with your friends.

…a beautiful place where you can let your mind wander.

…a supportive chat over a warm cup of tea whenever you need it.

Getting in touch with the college linked to your region has no influence on your chances of being accepted to this or any other particular college. You are also very welcome to get in touch with any other college for advice about applying or studying here.
