University College
About the college
Situated in the very centre of Oxford, University College (Univ) combines a long history with a thoroughly modern outlook. We have an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere that supports students to pursue their ambitions to the highest level.
We are proud of our reputation for providing outstanding academic and pastoral support, and of our pioneering role in making Oxford accessible to students from all backgrounds.
The college has excellent student facilities, including two 24-hour libraries with study spaces and extensive resources, a gym, a bar and an impressive boathouse.
Our active student body promotes many extracurricular opportunities, including:
- open mic nights
- garden plays
- a board games society
- cultural dinners
- distinguished visiting speakers
- and welfare teas.
Students can apply for a variety of grants to fund academic travel, the purchase of academic materials, and participation in extracurriculars to help them make the most of their time at Oxford. Additionally we offer a generous financial support package for UK students from less well-off backgrounds.
Undergraduate students normally live in college accommodation throughout their course, whether in our beautiful town-centre quadrangles, our garden annexe or college-owned houses. Meals, including formal dinners and weekend brunch, are available throughout term.
At Univ, excellence and inclusion go hand in hand. We are proud to work with, and be home to, our academically ambitious, diverse and enthusiastic student body.
