Careers, University of Oxford offers undergraduate and postgraduate students a range of exclusive skills development programmes designed to develop transferable skills, strengthen CVs, provide insight into different sectors, and support career exploration.

Developing new skills and gaining practical experience can significantly improve employability, as employers value achievements and experiences beyond academic study. Getting involved in activities outside the curriculum can also be personally rewarding, helping students build confidence, broaden their networks and explore new interests.

Insight Programmes

Careers Insight Programmes are short, sector-focused programmes that help Oxford students explore a particular career area including academia, consulting and strategy, creative writing, medicine, pharma and biotech, policy, or publishing.

OxAbility offers Oxford students with a disability, long-term health condition, or who are neurodivergent the opportunity to undertake vacation placements with inclusive organisations.
