Generative AI training
The University offers a diverse range of free AI training opportunities for staff and students with any level of expertise, guiding them through a journey of building confidence with the technology’s capabilities and limitations, and being able to select the most effective tools for work or study.
Training and support are delivered by in-house specialists from the University’s Digital Capabilities team, the AI Competency Centre, the Centre for Teaching and Learning, the Bodleian Libraries, the Oxford Research Software Engineers Group, and by academic communication specialists at the Oxford University Language Centre.
Staff and students have access to courses spanning the full range of supported generative AI tools at Oxford. These cover topics such as: getting started and taking next steps with GenAI, using AI for research, transferable skills for working with AI, AI and academic writing, ethical AI practice in education, making good learning decisions with AI (booked on behalf of students by departments and colleges), and using coding agents at work.
