About the course
All students will spend their first year together studying a taught course at the University of Edinburgh. After the first year, students will be matched with a project and supervisory team and relocate to their primary supervisor's institution. This page is for students who are allocated a primary supervisor who is based at the University of Oxford.
Quantum Informatics (EPSRC CDT) will provide you with the opportunity to learn ways to address the fundamental research challenges of quantum service architecture, scalable quantum software, and quantum application analysis. You will learn how to integrate quantum hardware with high-performance computing, design effective quantum software.
You will also learn about the potential social and ethical implications of innovation in quantum informatics.
In later years students can also take courses in Responsible Research and Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Some students may have the opportunity to complete a work placement with one of the industrial partners of the CDT.
If you are allocated a primary supervisor based at Oxford, your second, third and fourth years will be dedicated to your research project and will be completed at the University of Oxford.
