We offer many free services and facilities to all members of the University – staff and students. Many of the links below lead to information held on OxIntranet which can only be accessed by current University members.
Software
Free and low cost software, including antivirus, is available for members of the University. Check out the full list of available software and how to obtain it.

You have access to a wide range of low-cost or free IT and digital courses and resources covering software and much more. Explore the resource finder to discover what's available.
Protect
You can install Sophos anti-virus software free of charge.

Use Microsoft 365 (also known as Nexus365 at Oxford) resources including OneDrive for Business or Teams to share and collaborate.
Connect
Access free Wi-Fi via eduroam when in Oxford or when visiting other universities around the world.
When you are not in Oxford you can use our Virtual Private Network (VPN) service to reach restricted resources.
Listen
Free podcasts of lectures, talks and events on a wide range of topics are available.
Our lecture capture service means lecturers can record their sessions for revision and greater access. Recordings are normally accessed via the virtual learning environment for your course.
Help
You can get free IT support from your college or department. Our central Service Desk also offers free IT support and advice for Oxford University-related IT queries.
Backup
A central backup service is available for postgraduates and University staff.
