Often known as soft skills, employability skills are a core set of competencies expected and sought by employers for any position of responsibility and influence.

We have explained the core employability skills that are typically recognised across all job sectors, and listed under essential and desired qualities in job descriptions. Recruiters have different priorities in the balance of skills according to the role and organisation.
