Schools Engagement in Oxfordshire

Connecting Oxfordshire schools with the University.

Across Oxford’s departments, colleges, museums, libraries, gardens, sports facilities, and more spaces besides, a wide range of programmes, activities and events are available to support educational enrichment, skills development, and engagement with Oxford's research, teaching, sport and cultural communities.

We know from conversations with schools that it isn't always easy to find out what's available, who can take part or who to contact.

Our new Guide, Opening Oxford: A Guide for Schools in Oxfordshire, has been developed to help change that.

This guide brings together information and resources to help schools, teachers and education partners discover opportunities and build connections with the University.

Opening Oxford - A Guide for Schools in Oxfordshire

Developed with input from Oxfordshire teachers, education partners and colleagues from across the collegiate University, Opening Oxford brings together many of the educational, enrichment and career opportunities available to local schools in one place.

Access the guide

Our new schools' engagement guide, Opening Oxford, brings together information about these opportunities in one accessible resource. Rather than being an exhaustive directory, it offers a practical starting point for teachers, school leaders, and education partners to explore what's available, discover opportunities they might not previously have known about, and find out how to get involved. The Guide includes contact details and QR codes linking to relevant University webpages, helping readers take the next step.

Whether you're planning a school visit, looking for enrichment activities or supporting young people to explore their future options, the guide provides a starting point for discovering opportunities across Oxford.

Professor Irene Tracey
“We are committed to ensuring young people across Oxfordshire can see opportunities in the University, whether that is study, employment, or interest in our cultural assets. I hope you find that through this schools' engagement guide more people will discover and be inspired by all that Oxford has to offer”
— Professor Irene Tracey, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford

Through partnerships with educational institutions and local organisations, the University seeks to share knowledge, facilities and expertise, support young people and create opportunities that benefit communities across Oxfordshire and beyond.

Our approach reflects the University's commitment to leading through partnership and building meaningful, lasting relationships with the communities around us.
