Senior Remuneration Committee (SRC)

The SRC is responsible for setting and reviewing the remuneration of the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Pro-Vice-Chancellors, Heads of Division Director of Finance, and Dean of the Business School.

The SRC consists of:

three external members appointed by Council, one of whom Council shall appoint as chair, and at least two of whom shall also be external members of Council;

  • one of the Proctors or the Assessor as may be agreed between them;
  • one member of Congregation appointed by Council from its elected members;
  • one external member appointed by Council with experience of remuneration;
  • one external member appointed by Council with experience of people and culture.

Council may co-opt one additional member, who may be internal or external

Members will serve a maximum of two terms (3 years each term), lasting no more than 6 years, with no part terms or repeated terms after a gap.

At all times, the Committee will be comprised of primarily lay members. Current membership of the committee can be found at Senior Remuneration Committee.

In carrying out its duties the SRC adheres to the University’s Remuneration Policy for Senior University Officers which complies with the Committee of University Chairs Higher Education Senior Staff Remuneration Code. The Remuneration Policy for Senior University Officers will be reviewed every two years.
