Disability Advisory Service drop-ins

The Disability Advisory Service offer drop-ins during term time for quick queries. You'll be seen on a first-come, first served basis by a disability advisor for a 10 minute appointment.

Disability Advisory Service drop-ins. Speak to an advisor about study support, medical evidence, funding and how to register. 1-3pm Mondays and Fridays and 1-4.30pm Wednesdays during term time at 3 Worcester Street.

When are the drop-ins?

1 - 3pm, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday during Weeks 1 to 8 of term time (inclusive).

On Wednesdays from 3 - 4.30pm, our Assistant Disability Advisors will be available to help with queries relating to registering with the service, and DSA application troubleshooting.

Where are the drop-ins?

In-person at the Disability Advisory Service, 3 Worcester Street, OX1 2BX. Please report to reception on arrival.

There is level/lift access throughout, and a Hearing Support System in our meeting room. We have automatic doors at the main entrance and throughout the building.

Read about our building on the Access Guide.

Who can attend?

You do not need to be registered with the Disability Advisory Service to attend a drop-in. They are suitable for current Oxford students who have quick queries on:

  • Should I register with the DAS?
  • What support is available?
  • Is my medical evidence sufficient for me to register or apply for Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA)?
  • Does my diagnostic/ medical evidence meet Oxford's criteria for exam/study support?
  • How do I apply for DSA?
  • How do I fill out my application form?
  • I have a letter from my funding body about my DSA application but am not sure what to do next
  • I want to drop off some paperwork

When is the drop-in not suitable?

Drop-ins are not an alternative to a meeting with your advisor. You can book a 30-minute appointment if you need to discuss something more in-depth, for example:

  • I need to talk about my study support arrangements (including Student Support Plan content)
  • My study support requirements have changed
  • My study support arrangements are not working and need to be reviewed
  • I think I have a specific learning difficulty (SpLD) and would like an assessment

Contact your advisor or [email protected] if you have any questions.
