Update Friday 15 July 2022: Please be aware there has been a technical issue with our website today, so you may experience a delay in accessing some resources, including results, until this is fixed.
Once your results are released you will be sent an email informing you that your assessment results and the result for the year (if applicable) are available to view in Student Self Service. If you have completed your studies you will also be able to view your final classification.
You will be unable to view your results in Student Self Service if your annual University registration is outstanding. You can select to have your name omitted from publicly displayed lists using Student Self Service. To select this option log in to Student Self Service and go to 'My Student Record', 'Additional Information'. Changes may not be taken into account if they are made during the times when lists are due to be published.
Appeals against the outcome of an examination should be referred via your college to the Proctors.
If you fail a University examination, it is important to obtain advice from your subject tutor or supervisor as soon as possible (for example, to find out whether your college is willing to allow you to come back into residence). The detailed provisions for any resit arrangements for each qualification are explained in Examination Regulations.
In general, the regulations permit undergraduate students failing the First Public Examination at the first attempt to re-enter some form of the examination, normally within a year. The regulations permit students failing the Second Public Examination (‘Finals’) to re-enter but, unless they do so within the maximum number of terms specified for the subject concerned, they will not normally be eligible to obtain Honours. Except for a small number of subjects detailed in the regulations, if you have been classified in the Second Public Examination, you may not re-take your Finals in order to try to improve your results. Graduate students on taught courses are normally allowed to make a second attempt at a failed examination, in accordance with the regulations for the particular qualification.
