Are you holding a conditional offer?
This guidance is for students receiving A-level, IB, Scottish Higher or equivalent qualifications in 2026 who are holding a conditional offer from Oxford. If you meet the conditions of your offer, your place will be confirmed through UCAS and your college will be in touch with next steps. If you miss your offer, your college will review your results carefully and let you know the outcome as soon as possible. Further guidance on results day is available from UCAS.

Offer holders studying in the Middle East
We are aware that normal assessment arrangements are not available for a small number of our offer holders in the Middle East studying for A-Levels, international A-Levels, the International Baccalaureate Diploma and other qualifications due to conflict in the region. Examination boards have proposed or put into place alternative assessments to award grades where possible. If you are an offer holder from the Middle East and currently affected by the conflict and unable to sit your examinations in 2026, please note that the University will accept the grades awarded you by examination bodies under their proposed contingency arrangements.
Students not holding conditional offers from Oxford University
Oxford University does not participate in UCAS Clearing or Extra. There are no further places available at Oxford University for any courses starting this year.
We routinely make more offers than there are places available, to ensure that all places are filled. Further information about places available at other institutions can be found on the UCAS website.
If you achieve top grades at A-level, or other equivalent academic qualifications which meet our admission requirements, you are welcome to apply for entry next year.
Please read our information on how to apply and please note the deadline for applications for entry in 2027 (or deferred entry in 2028) is 15 October 2026. This is earlier than at most other universities.
Please also remember that competition for places at Oxford is intense and even excellent results will unfortunately not guarantee you a place. If you are holding an offer from another university, you may wish instead to pursue your studies there.
