Professor Ian Horrocks

Professor Ian Horrocks' research is in the area of artificial intelligence (AI). His specialisation is symbolic AI, including knowledge graphs, reasoning and the implementation and optimisation of knowledge graph systems. He also has extensive experience in the deployment of knowledge graph systems having co-founded Oxford Semantic Technologies (OST), a company that has commercialised the RDFox knowledge graph system originally developed in his research group. OST is now part of Samsung, and RDFox is being used in Samsung's flagship mobile phones as well as in sectors as diverse as engineering, finance, retail and healthcare.
