About
Professor Catriona Seth, FBA, MAE is a recognised expert in the field of French literature and culture, particularly of the Enlightenment. She has published widely on topics as diverse as Marie Antoinette, pre-Jenner inoculation, Creole poetry, Germaine de Staël and foundlings.
She is currently piloting a project with Versailles to assemble all of Marie Antoinette’s letters and is engaged in research with the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire in Geneva around portraits and other artworks by Jean Etienne Liotard.
In 2019, Professor Seth set up the UK Choix Goncourt in which 15 Universities take part. In 2026, she launched the Schools’ Laureate Award.
