For Michaelmas term, Careers, University of Oxford has put together a series of events and opportunities specifically designed to support Oxford University students. So, whether you are studying law or something completely different, we are here to help you get ahead in your legal career thinking.

Introduction to Legal Careers

If you have been considering a career in law but are not sure where to start then this event is for you. The legal sector is large and full of variety so for this session the main focus will be on understanding the roles of a barrister and a solicitor, how to become qualified and how to get started. This session is for beginners, so it will assume no prior knowledge. There will be opportunities to ask questions.

Law Careers Advice Appointments (at St Cross Building)
In term-time, careers advisers offer in-person careers appointments in the Law Faculty on Tuesday mornings to undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of Oxford. The appointments take place in Seminar Room L (next to the cafe) in the Law Faculty, St Cross Building, OX1 3UL between 10.00 am and 12.00 pm on Tuesdays during weeks 1-8 inclusive.
You will be able to book a ‘Law Careers Appointment (at St Cross Building)’ via CareerConnect a week in advance.
Internships
Current, matriculated University of Oxford students have access to a range of opportunities from the Internship Office. In Michaelmas term, applications open for The Micro-Internship Programme and The Crankstart Internship Programme which advertise opportunities in a variety of sectors, including in law.
