Do you pay to live in your college?

Students pay for accommodation and food, although this is often heavily subsidised. Colleges provide a wide variety of accommodation and meal options. Costs vary across colleges and are likely to increase annually.

Rents and other charges

It is important you understand how much your degree is going to cost and what financial support you might be eligible for.

The table below gives an indication of the types of costs students will need to cover for accommodation and other charges. Please note the following points when reading the information in the table:

  • Costs are weighted averages and apply only to the academic year 2026-27.
  • Costs are likely to increase annually.
  • Tenancy of 175 days covers eight weeks per term, and an additional week before the first term for freshers' week. The exact number of days that you will need to spend in Oxford may vary, as will the number of days accommodation offered by each college.

We strongly encourage applicants to check individual college pages to find out the exact details of arrangements and charges - as the table below provides a limited snapshot - and to contact the college if further information is required. College contact details can be found on each college page.
