Industrial Doctoral Landscape Awards (IDLA)

Industrial Doctoral Landscape Awards (IDLA) are a collaboration between the University and a business or industry organisation who acts as a sponsor.

About

Industrial Doctoral Landscape Awards projects typically offer a placement with the sponsor organisation and full or fees-only financial support to pursue research for a named project or area of study. Successful completion of an IDLA project will lead to the award of a Doctor of Philosophy.

There are two routes to applying for an Industrial Doctoral Landscape Award project at the University of Oxford:

  1. Apply for a course that has been established to provide only IDLA projects;
  2. Apply for an IDLA project being offered by an existing Oxford postgraduate course.

Application routes vary by course and project, so please refer to the relevant information for each opportunity.

This list will be updated if IDLA projects become available for existing Oxford courses.
