Robinson Memorial Fund

Part of Council Regulations 25 of 2002: Trust Regulations

1. The University accepts with gratitude the moneys known as the Robert Robinson Memorial Fund, together with any moneys which may be subscribed to the fund in future, to be applied to foster research in organic chemistry (and related studies) in the Dyson Perrins Laboratory, in memory of Sir Robert Robinson, OM, MA, Hon. D.Sc., sometime Waynflete Professor of Chemistry.

2. The purposes for which the fund shall be used shall be inter alia:

(a) to facilitate the sojourns in the Dyson Perrins Laboratory of visiting research workers from other parts of Great Britain and overseas;

(b) to enable members of the staff of the laboratory to make visits elsewhere in support of their researches;

(c) to provide short-term assistance for research. The fund shall be expendable, both as to capital and income, under arrangements to be approved from time to time by Council.

3. Income not expended in any year shall be carried forward for expenditure in a subsequent year.

4. Council shall have power to amend this decree, provided that the main object of the fund, as set out in clause 1 above, shall always be kept in view.
