Paul Foundation Professorships Fund

Part of Council Regulations 25 of 2002: Trust Regulations

Made by General Purpose Committee of Council on 24 July 2026 (Gazette, Vol. 156, p. 642-643, 9 July 2026)

1. The Paul Foundation Professor of Developmental Clinical Psychology shall undertake research, lecture and teach in the field of child and adolescent mental health, and shall act as director at the Oxford Centre for Emerging Minds Research. 

2. The professor shall be elected by an electoral board consisting of: 

(1) the Vice-Chancellor; 

(2) the head of the college to which the Chair may be allocated by Council from time to time; or; if the head is unable or unwilling to act, a person appointed by the governing body of that college; 

(3) A person appointed by the governing body of the college specified in clause (2); 

(4), (5) 2 persons appointed by Council; 

(6)–(9) 4 persons appointed by the Medical Sciences Board; 

(10) A person appointed by the body or bodies which may issue an honorary clinical contract or contracts to the professor. 

3. The professor shall be subject to the General Provisions of the regulations concerning the duties of professors and to those Particular Provisions of the same regulations which are applicable to the chair. 

4. Part of the income of the Paul Foundation Professorships Fund shall be applied towards the salary and expenses of the professor.
