Admissions statistics

Oxford is very competitive and getting ever more so...

More than 18,000 people applied for undergraduate study in 2015 and over 24,000 people applied for graduate study at the University of Oxford for 2015 entry. Oxford has around 3,200 undergraduate places and approximately 5,250 graduate places for the 2015-16 year. 

The following statistics cover undergraduate and graduate student numbers. These tables are produced annually by the Student Data Management and Analysis team and the Graduate Admissions and Funding office at the University of Oxford.
