Trinity exams: what to expect on the day
You'll find a range of resources to support you throughout exams season on the Oxford Students website, as well as guidance on exam wellbeing and preparation to help you navigate this time.
Follow these steps so you know what to expect when you arrive at the Exam Schools or Ewert House on the day of your exam.
Bring your University (Bod) card to every exam
You must bring your University card to enter the exam venue and it must be legible – it will be scanned at entry and you can't enter without it. Please contact your college to arrange a replacement in advance of your exam if yours is lost, expired, damaged or badly faded.
Arriving for your exam
Most in-person exams will be at the Exam Schools or Ewert House - you can arrive in your academic dress 45 minutes before they start. You will enter a waiting area where room and desk listings are displayed – it can become crowded, so please be respectful to other students. When rooms are called, follow the signage (desk numbers can be re-confirmed outside each room).
What to do if you can't attend an exam or submit an assessment
If you face difficulties submitting an assessment or attending an exam, support is available. In the event of illness or personal circumstances not addressed by another support option, you can check what evidence is required and use Student Self Service to submit a Mitigating Circumstances Notice.
Please be respectful to other students before, during and after your exams and ensure you leave quietly - even if you've finished, other students will still be sitting theirs. We want you to celebrate after your exams. Follow our important guidance to have fun and mark your achievements while following essential Celebrate SMART steps.
