| Description | Is your child or young person you are caring for thinking about applying to Oxbridge? If so, this session is for you. The application process to Oxford and Cambridge is made up of multiple steps, several of which are not required by other universities. In this session we will explain how the application process works, what each of its steps is designed to do (and what it is not designed to do!), what admissions tutors are looking for, and how to put together a strong application. We will also focus on the question of choosing a college, as well as the option of an Open Application. We will share useful admissions statistics for both Oxford and Cambridge, and explain their relevance as well as provide the context in which they must be understood. In addition to talking about the admissions process itself, we will also dedicate some time in this session to sharing what life at Oxford and Cambridge is like for students, and what things are worth considering before applying here. All sessions are led by Dr Francesca Lovell-Read and Dr Lena Sorochina from the St Hugh’s College Outreach and Admissions Team, with additional guest speakers from Oxford and Cambridge. | Description | St Hugh's Connect is an online programme consisting of hour-long sessions led by student ambassadors. During these sessions, Sixth Formers have the opportunity to talk directly to current St Hugh’s undergraduates about various aspects of the application process, to receive some top tips on preparing a competitive application, and to hear about the undergraduate experience from a range of authentic student voices. There are five upcoming sessions this spring/summer, focused around choosing a course and university, and preparing a strong application for top universities. You are welcome to sign up for as many of these sessions as you would like. In this session, we will discuss why super-curricular activities are important for preparing a strong application to top universities, and where to access useful resources to get started with your exploration. We will talk about different types of supercurriculars, and how to incorporate them into your personal statement to help make your application stand out. Like all of our outreach activities, Connect is completely free of charge and students can attend as many sessions as they like. The conference, titled From Classroom to Career: Why the Humanities Matter, will explore ways in which universities and school leaders can promote to students the value of humanities to future employers and how they lead to careers, and how school leaders can develop programmes in their own schools for high achieving and ambitious students. This conference is for teachers and school leaders across all school types in the UK, who have responsibility for progression or university choice in their school. Schools must also have post-16 provision. These Summer Schools are designed to give UK pupils in Year 12 (or equivalent) a taste of what it’s like to be an undergraduate studying at the University of Oxford. Pupils will take part in an academic programme, live in College, meet current students, and receive guidance on applying to university. The Summer School is completely free of charge. Accommodation and meals will be provided, and we will provide financial support to students to cover their travel costs. |

| Description | The Physics & Engineering at Magdalen Residential is for Year 12 (or equivalent) students at UK state schools who are interested in applying to Physics or Engineering at university. The programme will take place on 18-20 August 2026. It is entirely free for participants, including accommodation, food and travel. 40 participants will receive the opportunity to visit and stay in Magdalen for this three-day residential programme, including academic taster sessions, tours of Magdalen and Oxford, admissions workshops, and more. Participants will also get to meet current undergraduate students and tutors in Physics and Engineering. The deadline for applications is Wednesday 17 June 2026. |

| Description | Our fifth annual residential conference for teachers in the UK state sector will take place between Monday 24 – Thursday 27 August 2026. This four-day residential conference at St Hugh’s College includes: Information sessions aimed at demystifying the Oxbridge application process; Useful practical tips to help with reference-writing and supporting students through Oxford admissions tests and interviews; We want you to experience everything our historic city has to offer – so we’ll also be visiting some of Oxford’s libraries, museums, and other attractions. We also have a lively social schedule planned, including punting and Formal Hall in College! The Summer School is completely free of charge. Accommodation and meals will be provided. Attendees will have the option to arrive on the night of Sunday 23 August and stay an extra night before the programme starts, if travelling from further afield.
