Enrol now for a Hilary term course in modern languages or written and spoken Academic English. The year-long fast track modern languages pathway has been opened for new starters in Hilary term.

There is an opportunity for a current graduate research student, studying any subject, to undertake a period of study or research at one of Australia’s top universities. A travel grant is available to cover economy return travel and a visa.

What do you like most about being part of the University?

That has to be the diversity of the talent. Stick your head into any student common room, and you'll find a team of people who together can make anything. In the last two years I've worked with others on an anatomy teaching application, an AI (Artificial Intelligence) system to combat fake news, a satellite system to map routes by safety and I am now in a team of four attempting to tackle the youth unemployment crisis. Oxford is very much made by its diversity of thought, perspective and talent.

Recent research has shown that 86% of students rely on family support during their time at University. However, around 9,000 UK students have no contact or relationship with their families, leaving them financially, materially and emotionally vulnerable during their studies.

Accounts of student life show that estranged students often suffer homelessness over summer and stay in student accommodation alone over the Christmas period. Such students may be up to three times more likely to drop out of university.

Overseas placements may include field trips, lab work, library work, visits to other universities, research, or the writing up of a dissertation or thesis. This information is vital for helping the University provide pastoral support, should a situation arise in the country you visit.
