The journey so far

We all come from different countries with Natalia coming from Malaysia, Jiazheng from China, and myself from Bosnia and Herzegovina. We met on the first year of our course and what brought us to apply for the Hackathon was thinking about how to further contextualise the knowledge we were gaining in our studies, while also challenging ourselves.

Evidence based tips

Having access to recorded lectures is very popular with students but many don't get the most out of it. The guide on the new page outlines some key ideas you can use to learn better from recorded lectures.

As part of the new guidance, you should now wear a face covering when indoors to help limit the spread of the virus, and they are required in University libraries (unless you are exempt). In addition, you should cancel all Christmas parties and gatherings in University buildings, and elsewhere where they are linked with studying at the University.

I have scripts ready to recite when asked about myself around new people. Depending on my audience and/or how much energy I have, I will answer anywhere from PhD student to plant functional ecologist to poker of plants. It is perhaps one of the hardest statements for me to address in full, as I have a complex web of interests and typically only share a small slice of who I am.

Under no circumstances should you send any submissions or deposits via post or print services. If you plan to submit work online during the vacation, please be aware that there will be no administrative and limited IT support to help with any technical issues. CyanoCapture was founded in January 2021 and aims to provide affordable, long term carbon capture on an industrial scale by harnessing genetically modified cyanobacteria.

The importance of the Race Equality Task Force

Nearly 50% of students responded to the survey, which closed on Friday 5 November, with 98% reporting that they were vaccinated, (95% fully and 3% partially). There were virtually no differences in vaccination rates between different colleges and departments. Thank you to everyone who completed the survey. As previously communicated, it will not be possible for your college or department to know your vaccination status as a result of taking part.
