This session will describe a paper I published in May 2025 on "Developmental Insights from Modelling the Digital Maturity of The Oxford-Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) Research and Surveillance Centre." It will describe what a community-based respiratory disease surveillance system is in England, and why it has evolved over the last decade to inform our public health partners at the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), and to guide medical practice. The session will also describe key digital health developments of the RSC over the last decade and suggested future directions.

This webinar is part of St Anne's Supercurricular Club - a series of online seminars aimed at students in Year 12 (or equivalent) looking to explore their interests ahead of applying to university. Sessions will be led by academics from St Anne's College, and will give students an introduction into university research and study. We will be running eight sessions on a range of different subjects (from pathogens to music to Japanese literature) every Thursday from 16 April to 4 June 2026.
