Using the information below, visitors are advised to contact colleges directly to check availability and to book. Please note that some eligibility criteria may apply with priority being given to those coming from furthest away.

You might find it interesting to know that some colleges also offer help with the cost of travelling to Oxford.

On this page you will find the free college accommodation available to prospective applicants, teachers and/or parents for the summer Open Days on 1 and 2 July.

Christ ChurchYesYesNo

Christ Church are able to provide limited free accommodation for prospective students and teachers who attend an Open Day. Christ Church can also cover reasonable travel expenses via public transport in the UK for students who would otherwise be unable to attend. If you are a teacher or a member of staff from a UK state-maintained school who would like to bring a group of pupils to Christ Church for the Open Days, but would be unable to cover the cost of coach travel without support, there may also be help available. The deadline for requesting accommodation is 5pm on Wednesday 22 April.

KebleNoYesNo

Keble offers an accommodation scheme for individual prospective students and UK state school/college groups. Accommodation will be available on Wednesday 1 July. Keble also offers a travel bursary scheme for those who are concerned about the cost of travelling to Oxford for an Open Day. Please see our website for more information and to apply for either scheme. The deadline for requesting accommodation is 8am on Friday 5 June.

MagdalenNoYesNo

Magdalen offers accommodation for one night on a room-only basis for school groups travelling with a teacher from outside a 70-mile radius of Oxford, or for care-experienced or estranged prospective applicants. Accommodation must be pre-booked and is limited. For school group bookings, a maximum of 10 students with one accompanying teacher can be accommodated. Meals are not included but can be purchased in College.

MertonYesYesNo

Merton offers overnight accommodation to prospective students travelling from outside a 70-mile radius of Oxford who have also booked to attend a subject meeting. There is no charge for accommodation and meals. School groups may book a maximum of five students in for overnight accommodation, along with one accompanying member of staff. No accommodation can be provided for parents/guardians/friends. The deadline for requesting accommodation has now passed.

Queen'sYesYesNo

Queen's offers limited overnight accommodation on the night preceding each open day to Year 12 school groups and their accompanying teachers from state schools in our North West link areas of Lancashire and Cumbria. Evening meal, overnight accommodation, and breakfast is provided free of charge. The deadline for requesting accommodation is 12pm on Tuesday 28 May.

St Anne'sNoNoYes

St Anne's offers free bed and breakfast accommodation for the night of Thursday 2 July for state schools students travelling 100+ miles to attend. Travel support may be considered for state school students in link regions (Hillingdon, Southwark and the North East of England) who would otherwise be unable to attend. The deadline for requesting accommodation is Sunday 7 June.

St Catherine'sYesYesYes 

St Catherine's offers accommodation with dinner and breakfast, subject to availability, to organised and accompanied groups from UK state schools. Group bookings from Welsh schools will be prioritised. Catz may also be able to offer the same to unaccompanied students, who are in Year 12 or 13, with state school students prioritised. The deadline for requesting accommodation is Wednesday 10 June.

St Hilda'sYesYesNo

St Hilda's offers a small amount of free overnight accommodation and breakfast for school groups in link regions of Surrey and Hampshire. There is space for two groups of 14 for the night preceding each Open Day. Teachers are included in these numbers.

St John'sYesNoNo

St John's offer a limited amount of overnight accommodation to school parties from non-selective state schools more than 150 miles from Oxford. Parties will need to be accompanied by at least one member of staff.

WadhamYesYesNo

All places now full for July 2026

Wadham offers a limited number of bed and breakfast rooms free of charge for prospective applicants. Accommodation is also available for individual sixth form students and school groups of up to ten sixth form students, plus two members of staff, with pupils from the East of England prioritised. If you have been eligible for Free School Meals during your time at secondary school and/or are care experienced, Wadham will cover the cost of your travel to attend the Open Day.
