The session invites participants to consider the relationship between music, technology, and the human body: how does technology reshape the way we listen, perform, and create? From early instruments that amplified the voice or stretched the limits of the hands, to modern digital systems that surpass human speed, range, and endurance, technology has often achieved what the body alone cannot. Does technology simply enhance human expression, or does it transform what it means to be musical in the first place? Where does the body end and technology begin?

This webinar is part of St Anne's Supercurricular Club - a series of online seminars aimed at students in Year 12 (or equivalent) looking to explore their interests ahead of applying to university. Sessions will be led by academics from St Anne's College, and will give students an introduction into university research and study. We will be running eight sessions on a range of different subjects (from pathogens to music to Japanese literature) every Thursday from 16 April to 4 June 2026.
