Keble College, Oxford and Newnham College, Cambridge are working together to support Birmingham state schools, their students, staff and support networks, with advice and guidance for those considering applications to Oxbridge and other top universities.

We are already part of a team of Oxford and Cambridge colleges working together on the West Midlands Webinars series for Year 12 students, and are producing this new series of Oxbridge Focus Webinars to run alongside this provision. There will be dedicated sessions for teachers and parents/carers and two additional sessions for Year 12 students aiming to apply to Oxbridge.

Monday 8th November, 5-6pm: ‘Oxbridge Explained – for parents/carers of prospective applicants’ Gain insight into living and studying at Oxford and Cambridge, and the application process for these universities. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask your questions and bust myths!

The sessions will be delivered jointly by staff from both universities. All take place outside of the school day, so participants should register independently and will receive joining instructions ahead of each webinar. These sessions will be run using Zoom webinar software. When you register to attend a webinar-style session, you will then be sent a Zoom link which will allow you to join the event. Your camera/microphone will not be enabled, and you will only be able to communicate with the hosts/panellists running the session by typing out questions or comments.

Parents and carers should register for this session by 12 noon on Friday 5th November. Although this session is targeted at those with children living or going to school in Birmingham, we are very happy to accept registrations from those from surrounding areas of the West Midlands.
