Next Steps Essex
Next Steps Essex is a new webinar series which aims to give Year 12 students from Essex, Thurrock and Southend-on-Sea, the tools to make a competitive application to Oxford and Cambridge. This term, Emmanuel College (Cambridge), Hertford College (Oxford) and Magdalen College (Oxford) will be offering more webinars introducing Oxbridge, and offering top tips for choosing courses and developing study skills.
The upcoming webinars are on the following dates:
Tuesday 9th February, 3:45pm-4:45pm – Developing study and revision skills
Wednesday 10th February, 4:00-5:30pm – Choosing a STEM course at university
Thursday 11th February, 4:00-5:45pm – Choosing a humanities course at university
The webinars are open to Year 12 students who identify with one or more of our outreach criteria: care-experienced students, those who have been eligible for free school meals in the last six years, those who live in area with low level of progression to HE (as determined by home postcode), Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Students, Estranged Students, Young Carers and those who would be the first generation of their family to progress to higher education. This list is not exhaustive so there will also be an opportunity to inform us of your individual circumstances, if you believe you should be considered but do not meet any of the above criteria.
