International Women in Engineering Day 2020 – Chat to Our Engineers
To celebrate International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) on 23 June we have invited some of our inspiring female engineers to talk about their work and answer some of your questions about engineering!
The engineers will give a brief presentation on their research or a similar area of engineering that interests them, and then answer your questions about engineering in a live Q&A session. There are three sessions taking place throughout the day, each aimed at a different age group:
• 10:00-11:00 – Aimed at students in school years 6 & 7
• 11:30-12:30 – Aimed at students in school years 8, 9, 10 & 11
• 13:30-14:30 – Aimed at students in school years 12 & 13
This event is open to all school students who are interested in finding out more about engineering and what it is like to be an engineer.
The event will be hosted on an online platform and will have a limited number of spaces available. Spaces will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis and joining instructions will be sent to all successful attendees a few days prior to the event taking place. Participants will need to have their parents/guardians’ permission to take part, and full safeguarding procedures will be followed during the event.
