Blackfriars Hall10Visiting students at Blackfriars Hall can study Theology, Philosophy, Psychology, English Literature, British History and Classics in Translation.We have links with several universities in the USA, and welcome enquiries from universities in all parts of the world.Please visit the Hall website for further information, Visiting students at Blackfriars, or email [email protected].
Corpus ChristiCorpus has a small number of places available for visiting students, as determined on a year by year basis. We accept applications for a full year of study, currently only from students at our linked universities.The subjects offered can vary from year to year, depending on undergraduate numbers and teaching provision. Please refer to the college website.We have links with Columbia and Barnard University, and also Keio University in Japan, but welcome applications from other institutions.

We require:

  • a completed application form
  • personal statement of reasons for wishing to study the proposed course
  • two academic references (preferably from academics at the home institution)
  • a sample of written work
  • and a transcript or record of education from the home institution.

Additionally, students who have not previously been tutored in English at university level are required to provide evidence of proficiency in English.

Exeter

Exeter will admit up to 3 visiting students each year, to study for a full academic year.

Exeter accepts visiting students for a variety of subjects, and a list of those currently offered can be found on the college website.In addition to our Williams-Exeter visiting student programme, we offer a limited number of places to individual visiting students (typically DAAD or Junior Year Abroad) each year.

HertfordHertford has up to 30 visiting students per term on one term, two term or full year programmes.Hertford accepts visiting students for a variety of subjects in the humanities and social sciences.We have a variety of links with universities in the USA and the Far East and we welcome links with universities in all parts of the world.For information on Hertford College's visiting student scheme please visit the Hertford College website.

Lady Margaret HallWe welcome applications from students wishing to study at Oxford from universities and colleges worldwide.  Up to 30 Visiting Students will be in residence at any one time.A list of the subjects we currently offer, and more detailed information can be found on the college website.We have established links with a number of universities, mainly in the USA, but welcome applications from academically competitive students from other institutions.  We work with the Institute for Study Abroad (IFSA) Butler University and The College of Global Studies at Arcadia University in the USA, the China-UK Development Council, and also accept direct applications.

MagdalenMagdalen will admit up to the equivalent of ten visiting students each year, for the whole year or for one or two individual terms.  Applications should be made to OSAP and will be accepted up to eight weeks prior to the start of the intended period of residence in Oxford. The application should consist of a sample of written work in one of the subjects the applicant is intending to study at Magdalen or in their Major, two letters of recommendation and a completed application form. We normally admit 38-40 visiting students per year. Preference is given to full year students, but it is sometimes possible to study for two terms (Hilary and Trinity, the spring and summer terms).

 New College aspires to accept a number of visiting students each year from several partner universities, including the University of Notre Dame, Amherst College, and Tsinghua University. =

We also accept students from the University of Hong Kong, and Chinese institutions in partnership with the Oxford Prospects and Global Development Centre. Regent's ParkRegent's Park College welcomes independent applications either for a complete academic year or for one or two terms.Regent's specialises in the Humanities and Social Sciences and offers a wide range of tutorial subjects within these disciplines. St Anne'sSt Anne's has a long running and well established visiting students programme admitting approximately 40 visiting students during the year. We offer places for the Oxford academic year,  an extended academic year, Fall Term (September and Michaelmas) and Spring Term (Hilary and Trinity).  Applications are accepted through the colleges, universities and study abroad providers listed on the St Anne's college website and directly from students. Preference will be given to those applying for the Oxford or extended academic year.We offer a wide range of subjects across humanities, social sciences and sciences. Visiting Students can also apply to study subjects jointly.  A list of subjects and courses can be found on the College website. Some courses, especially in the sciences, prefer academic year study.St Anne's has strong institutional links with many US and several non-US colleges and universities, as listed on the College website. St Peter'sSt Peter's College accepts 25 visiting students per year.Most subjects that the college offers for standard undergraduate admissions, with the exception of Law. We have links with several US universities, including Barnard, Brandeis, Brown, Columbia, Emory, Georgetown, MIT, UPenn, Wellesley and with universities in Asia including Hitotsubashi, Tsinghua and Waseda. St Peter's College website

Wadham

We welcome applications from international students who will come to Oxford for the entire academic year. Up to 30 full-time places are available.

Visiting Students can usually study any of the subjects available to regular Oxford undergraduates with occasional exceptions. Students take two subjects per term, and have seven tutorials per subject. There are lectures to complement the tutorial experience. We also run a Core Programme designed to introduce students to cultural, historical and political aspects of Britain, and to broaden their intellectual experiences. This includes excursions, evening lectures and cultural events.

As one of the oldest and best established visiting student programmes at Oxford University, we have recently had students from:

WorcesterWorcester hosts about 25 visiting students in any given term.Classics, Philosophy, English, Modern Languages, History, Religion, Mathematics, Politics, Economics, Physics. Wycliffe HallWycliffe welcomes visiting students wishing to take undergraduate courses, usually for one or two terms, in Michaelmas and Hilary.Courses are offered in theology, philosophy, classics, English, history (including history of art and history of science), modern foreign languages, musicology, psychology, and a broad range of STEM subjects.

Wycliffe’s partner in international education is SCIO which helps to select students and run the thriving programme. Although most visiting students at Wycliffe come through the SCIO programme, other pathways may be possible.
