Environmental Sustainability Concordat
The University of Oxford has affirmed a commitment to environmental sustainability by joining with leading UK research funders and higher education institutions to become a signatory of the Concordat for the Environmental Sustainability of Research and Innovation Practice.
By signing the Concordat, we commit to taking action in six areas of research practice:
- leadership and system change,
- sustainable Infrastructure,
- sustainable procurement,
- emissions from business and academic travel,
- collaborations and partnerships,
- environmental impact and reporting data.
Oxford is a global leader in environmental research, with research as one of ten priority areas in the University’s Environmental Sustainability Strategy. In addition to joining the Concordat, Oxford has scaled up the Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework (LEAF) programme. The Environmental Sustainability Team and Research Services are working together to support all researchers to conduct research and innovation in an environmentally responsible way.
