Entrepreneurship and innovation

The University, home to Europe’s largest student entrepreneurship society, is always looking to the future.

Opened in 2017, the Oxford Foundry is a new entrepreneurial hub inspiring and supporting students to become more entrepreneurial. The new facility provides students with the skills and space to meet, collaborate, build start-ups and connect with prospective funders.

Oxford’s research commercialisation office, Oxford University Innovation has created more spin-out companies than any other UK institution, creating over 160 since launching in 1987, and was named best in the world in 2017 in the annual Global University Venturing awards.

Oxford Sciences Innovation, a company in its own right, is the largest university venture fund manager focused on a single institution in the world with £580m under management.

Enterprising Oxford is a multi-disciplinary online guide to entrepreneurship, providing support and highlighting opportunities for students, staff and academics.
