Data protection
Protecting our personal data is protecting our people.
How would you feel if your personal data was used in a way you didn’t expect? Handling personal data is a core part of nearly all of our daily activities and it’s important to look after the data you have access to and treat others’ data as you’d expect yours to be treated.
Managing data effectively is central to the University’s mission in delivering its teaching and research. It is essential that we are trusted to protect people's personal data, embed data protection into all of our processing activities, and are compliant with data protection legislation.
Here at Oxford, everyone is responsible for the protection of personal data so you need to be clear on when you can and cannot collect, share and store information. Staff and colleagues looking to find out more should visit our staff guidance webpages.
More information about the University’s approach to data protection can be found in the Policy on Data Protection.
