Candidates who are shortlisted and invited to attend an interview in Oxford will take the following tests:
- Performance of a prepared piece or pieces (about 7 minutes long in total) on the candidate’s principal instrument or voice. Accompaniment is provided by the Faculty (and special arrangements will be made for organists and percussionists).
- Candidates not possessing keyboard fluency to ABRSM Grade V may be asked to take a standardised keyboard sight-reading test at interview.
Some tutors may ask you to study a short piece of music and/or text about music in preparation for your interview; if so, this material will be given to you during your stay in Oxford.
Candidates who are not invited to an interview in Oxford will not be required to take these tests.
