Congratulations to Oxford's incoming undergraduates
Across the UK this summer, thousands of students have been celebrating their exam results. Among them are many who will soon be making Oxford their home, ready to begin their studies at the University. Here, we share in their successes and introduce some of the students joining us as undergraduates this autumn.
'Warm congratulations to all those students joining us at Oxford this October. This is a significant achievement and reflects not only your achievements and hard work, but also the encouragement of those who have supported you along the way: your teachers, families, carers and friends. We look forward to welcoming you to our diverse and dynamic academic community and wish you all the very best for the years ahead.'

I was especially proud to achieve 300/300 marks in maths as I am going to study maths at Oxford. I am delighted to be studying at Oxford for the unique and brilliant academic environment. Studying maths has always been an aspiration of mine. I would like to thank my parents and my teachers for always supporting and pushing me. 'It feels like a dream come true. The application process was an emotional rollercoaster, but I couldn't be more happy with the outcome. Not only am I fulfilling my dream of becoming a doctor, but I’m doing so at the university I’ve always aspired to attend.
'I’m super excited about getting to experience all the traditions at Oxford, but honestly, I’m also really looking forward to meeting so many new people. It’ll be great to connect with others who share similar interests. Plus, I’m eager to explore the city and just get a feel for what makes Oxford so special.'
Angel is coming from London to begin her studiesAngel, 18, will be studying Experimental Psychology at St Catherine’s College. She took her A-levels at the London Academy of Excellence in Stratford and achieved an A* in Psychology, A in Biology and A in Maths.
'I remember in secondary when I said that I would apply to Oxford as a joke, not actually thinking I could get in, but once I visited Oxford I knew it was the place for me. In the mocks leading up to A-levels I was getting lower than I was predicted which was a bit down heartening, but with hard work and perseverance I was able to meet my offer! I am most excited to make new friends, joining societies at Oxford and attending interesting lectures.'

'I remember the feeling of receiving my invitation to study Medicine at Oxford. I was so overwhelmed with excitement, and, to be frank, I didn't think that I was capable of doing it.
In the wait for results day, I was completing the online course for the Opportunity Oxford programme, wondering if I had even met my offer to study there. Results day was the biggest relief, and I am eager to attend the OppOx residential, and even more excited to join St Catherine's College officially in October, and start my journey to becoming a doctor. Still, it all feels so surreal, but my experience has shown me that if I want something, with hard work and determination, I can achieve it!'

It truly felt like a home away from home when I visited and I cannot wait to join in October!'
