For teachers

Choosing where to go to university can be a life-changing decision and whilst this is exciting, it can also be daunting. We hugely value the supporting role that teachers and careers advisers can play in encouraging students to consider their options and make informed decisions.

Enrichment opportunities

If you are supporting those preparing to apply in future years, we encourage you to explore our wide range of programmes and initiatives, including Oxplore Teach, BeUNIQ and UNIQ which help enrich learning by supporting curiosity and building academic confidence, oracy and other skills.

How can we help?

We are always looking to improve the information and support we provide and welcome feedback so please contact us via www.ox.ac.uk/ask to let us know how we can better support you and your students.

Supporting your Oxford applicants

Our Guide for applicants is our single source of information on each stage of Oxford’s admissions process. The information here supplements that guide, highlighting what is most relevant for teachers. Ideally it should be read together with the subject-specific information on individual course pages.

Supporting academic potential

Equality, diversity and inclusion are at the heart of Oxford's academic mission. Progress in this area has been made in recent years and we continue to build on this with innovative new access programmes and initiatives. Many colleges and departments in Oxford also run their own dedicated access programmes and events.

Have you heard of Oxplore Teach?

Discover the free online platform created by the University of Oxford to support teachers and educators in delivering high-quality enrichment activities. It brings research-inspired thinking and structured discussion into the classroom through carefully designed sessions that nurture students' instinctive curiosity and encourage them to think like researchers. Alongside classroom challenges, Oxplore Teach offers flexible CPDL modules grounded in this same research and shaped by classroom practice. These short, focused modules support teachers in strengthening areas such as oracy, transition and sustained engagement, helping you translate evidence into practical approaches in your own setting.
