Stop trashing: Protect our community

Please do not trash after your exams. Not only is it against the University’s Code of Conduct, it could also lead to disciplinary action and up to a £300 fine. It is also likely to breach Government and University COVID-19 health guidance, and the Student Responsibility Agreement.

We understand how much you’ll want to celebrate after your exams, whether you’ve completed them online or in-person, and especially after this past year. Even as restrictions start to ease, it’s vital that you continue to socially distance and avoid joining large gatherings that could breach COVID guidance. That’s why we’re asking students not to take part in ‘trashing’ after exams this year.

There are many ways to celebrate your achievements without causing the social, financial,
environmental, and personal impacts
of trashing. Avoid the disruption, spend it elsewhere and protect our community.

Trashing is against the University’s Student Code of Conduct. It can lead to disciplinary action and fines.
