New consent programme launches for students

A new online consent programme has launched for Oxford students, forming part of the University’s commitment to tackling sexual harassment and violence.

Consent Matters: boundaries, respect and positive intervention

Consent Matters is an online, interactive consent programme for all students at the University of Oxford. The programme offers initial training helping to build understanding of sexual consent, respect, boundaries and positive intervention. Students are encouraged to complete the training remotely at their earliest opportunity before arriving in Oxford for the start of term.

Talking about sex can be difficult, and through the completion of the programme it is hoped students will learn how to recognise and ask for sexual consent, look out for others at the University, and find support if it’s needed.

Find out more about Consent Matters and how to access the course on the consent page of the student welfare and support site.
