Members of the construction team from Laing O’Rourke – main contractor on the refurbishment of the old Radcliffe Infirmary Outpatients Building, now the Radcliffe Primary Care Building – have won a national site award.
The Considerate Constructors Scheme Gold Award recognises those sites that have made the greatest contribution towards improving the image of construction.
The University is a client partner of the scheme, which aims to improve the image of the construction industry by promoting and achieving best practice as set out under its code. As a member, the University must abide by the Code of Considerate Practice, which covers five key areas: construction site appearance, respect for the local community, protecting the environment, safety, and valuing the construction workforce.
The University’s membership applies to all capital projects with a construction value of more than £10 million.
