Kellogg International Women's Day Lecture

Join Caroline Douglas (Director of the Contemporary Art Society), Patrice Lawrence (British writer) and Becca Vallins (Deputy director of Arts at the Old Fire Station in Oxford) for the annual Kellogg International Women’s Day Lecture. The event will be chaired by Joyce Markham, who is currently studying for her Masters in Literature and the Arts.

This year we will be exploring whether the Arts helped our collective wellbeing during the Covid-19 pandemic? Did the pandemic change our reading habits and preferences? Did picking up a paintbrush and appreciating fine art help us through what were some of our darkest days? And will the performing arts bounce back after a very damaging absence? More generally has it made us examine how stories and narratives within the arts help us deal with, and process, life when it gets particularly tough?

This event is in-person and will also be streamed live, and recorded. There will also be a photographer taking photos at the event. If you are booking to attend online, you will receive a link with your event reminder email.

Refreshments will be served from 5pm in the Kellogg Hub, followed by the lecture at 5.30pm.
