The St Peter's College Choir and Orchestra will present a one-hour concert in two parts on Saturday 22 February.

The first half of the concert will be a performance of Mendelssohn’s Lauda Sion, sung by the College Choir accompanied by the College Orchestra. This is a noble and generous piece of music, showcasing the very best of our musicians in College. The second part of the concert will be devoted to launching the Choir’s latest recording: Fresh stone: Music by Piers Connor Kennedy. Piers (Music, 2010) was the College’s Associate Composer in the 2022-2023 academic year, during which time he worked with our students and composed music for the College Choir. The Choir will sing a number of pieces from the recording, and will be joined by some former members of the choir who sang on the recording itself. CDs will be available for purchase.

The Choir of St Peter’s College is one of the finest mixed-voice choirs at the University of Oxford. It comprises around 25 auditioned students and has an established reputation in Oxford, and further afield, for its choral excellence, diverse repertoire, and collegiality.

The performance will be conducted by prize-winning conductor and Director of Music at St Peter's College, Quintin Beer.
