An Exclusive Talk for Members of the Ashmolean

Although her work was often under-appreciated in her lifetime, living in the shadow of her famously flamboyant brother, Augustus John, Gwen John has now gained an international reputation.

This talk will explore her life and work, including her fraught relationship with her brother and her affair with the French sculptor Rodin.

David Boyd Haycock, lecturer, writer and curator specialising in 20th-century British art, returns to the Museum this spring for two talks focusing on two leading artists: Gwen John and Stanley Spencer.

This event will be recorded and the recording will be shared with ticketholders following the event.
