Rustam Khanmurzin plays Liszt, Brahms & Rachmaninoff

Rustam Khanmurzin is a rising-star pianist gaining a reputation for the poetry of his playing as much as for his virtuosity – in the words of one reviewer, his playing is about ‘much more than mere pyrotechnics’. Come and support him as he introduces a stunning selection of his chosen pieces before flying to Tokyo to compete in the world-famous 12th Hamamatsu International Piano Competition.

Rustam studied at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Moscow, winning a number of prizes including the silver medal of the 2012 2nd Asia-Pacific Chopin Piano Competition and the PianoForum Magazine Award at the ‘Virtuoso-2015’ Festival in the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory. He’s known to Oxford audiences as a Young Artist of the Oxford International Song Festival, a Young Artist of the Musician’s Company and a former Constant and Kit Lambert Junior Fellow at the Royal College of Music.
