Dame Catherine (Kate) Elizabeth Bingham DBE will be delivering this year’s Romanes Lecture.

In May 2020 Kate was appointed Chair of the UK Vaccine Taskforce reporting to the Prime Minister to lead UK efforts to find and manufacture a COVID-19 vaccine on a seven month engagement. On December 8 2020 the UK started COVID-19 vaccinations – the first Western country to do so.

In her talk, Kate will discuss how the UK's response to COVID-19 has evolved from wartime to peacetime.
