Inspired by Living Nature is a pop-up exhibition which invites you to go behind the scenes in the Print Room for the chance to see some of the Museum's treasures up close. The Ashmolean's unrivalled collection of works on paper is rarely on display in the galleries.
From Turner's atmospheric watercolours and fresh spring landscapes painted in Pre-Raphaelite detail, to bold wood engravings capturing the movement of water, you will see how artists have responded to the beauties of nature across the centuries. Inspired by clouds and mountains, trees and rivers, they have produced some of the most memorable reflections of our living world.
Come and discover the magic of nature transformed into art.
Please note that owing to the historical nature of the building, the Western Art Print Room is only accessible by stairs.
Tickets are free but booking is essential.
