Might Ignorance Be Bliss?
A wise man, says Hume, proportions his beliefs to the evidence. But what if that evidence is misleading; or overwhelming; or simply uncomfortable? Might it not, then, be better to avoid it? Might it not, in Grays words, be folly to be wise?
