May Morris Embroidery Workshop

Participants who join this embroidery workshop will be introduced to Morris’s approach to materials, colour and stitch using one of the designs featured in her new Ashmolean book May Morris Designs: The Very Soul and Essence of Beautiful Embroidery, published in August 2025.

There will also be an opportunity to study some of Morris’s embroideries as well as her working designs in the Ashmolean collection.

This is a practical workshop. All stitching materials will be provided in the form of a kit which will enable you to complete the design after learning the techniques and starting the embroidery in class.
